🧠 CEO Insight of the Week: What’s on Your Calendar is Your Strategy

Want to know what you’re actually prioritizing?

Look at your calendar.
Not your OKRs.
Not your pitch deck.
Not your Slack threads.

“Your calendar is your real product roadmap.”
— What we tell every CEO in our working sessions

Here’s what we’ve been seeing in the field:

🗓️ Founders are spending 80% of their week on ops fires and 20% on growth bets—when it should probably be the other way around.

🧭 Their team doesn't know what the real goals are because the founder is in “reply” mode, not “direction” mode.

🧠 They feel “out of alignment,” but they’ve never blocked time for actual strategic reviews or goal calibration.

🔁 BIG TIP: You Need a “Rowing Towards What” Meeting—Weekly

Pick a time, every week, to:

  • Define the short-term win you're working toward

  • Repeat the north star goal that makes that win meaningful

  • Ask yourself: Who on my team is unclear, or out of sync?

  • Adjust the calendar if needed — because your week is your company.

If this sounds obvious… are you actually doing it?

🧩 Bonus Note from the Field: Strategic Communication is Calendar-Driven

If your team goals are vague, they’ll default to:

  • Doing whatever’s loudest

  • Running "flat out" but without direction

  • Delaying key conversations because… “nobody asked for an update”

Your calendar should reflect what’s strategically important to communicate.

If you want to build:

  • A new pricing model → you better have weekly touchpoints

  • A go-to-market strategy → your head of growth needs regular access

  • Team alignment → you need recurring sessions that feel like rhythm, not rescue
